Time for an update from your humble Retromedia Comics Group staff artist! I talked to cult movie kingpin, Fred Olen Ray yesterday and he informed me that our “Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers” comic book has found a distributor!! This is awesome news as it’s one of the big players so it will be widely available once it’s released. Watch for this month’s Hustler and Hustler Humor as they both have plugs for this forthcoming comic! I also found out that Fred (the hippest film director in the world) has come up with another way to fit some comic art into his next movie which means your’s truly gets to draw another prop comic! And this time it actually plays a pretty pivotal roll in the movie! I’m stoked…more on this later! I’ve been informed that I can’t disclose any more information or William Hung will be sent to my house to perform for me! That is all.
I was digging through some of my old art files and ran across this caricature that I drew back when WDAY-tv’s Kerstin Kealy was still doing the show with Dui and I back at Q98! That was probably the most fun period we’ve ever had on ‘SAD radio’ and it was because Kerstin brought so much to the show. Not to mention the fact that she was an incredibly good sport considering some of the bits we’d ask her to do! Okay, everybody sing the Kealy’s Couch theme song! Here we go…”The best part of waking up is Kerstin Kealy’s couch!”
Friends, it’s a scientific fact that people who shun and avoid caffeinated treats are unpopular and lethargic and, let’s face it, think they are better than you! Are you going to let them get away with that, bunky? It’s time to reap the benefits and goodness that science has to offer and show those lousy do-gooders who’s boss! I’m very excited to lend my artistic talents to the up and coming product, Sunpower Seeds! Watch for the Sunpower Seeds website and rock on! (Oh, and buy plenty of seeds of course.)
It’s been awhile I realize. I’ve had alot on my mind lately, including my twentieth class reunion coming up this week! Yikes, man! However, even the most uncouth of morons will tell you that nothing chases away the doldrums like a nice hunk of art! Am I right, or am I right? I took a few snaps of some of the paintings and colored pencil illustrations I’ve done over the last year or so and thought this would be a fine time to lay a little low-brow art on you! Unfortunately, there’s a bit of a glare from the flash. To the right is part of a two piece project titled “El Guapo Park” done in acryllic this last winter. I gave the other one to a friend.
