• Hey there, lovers of fine art! My name is Noel Anderson but folks generally call me Scotch. I have an insatiable love of B-movies and blame much of who I am upon their influence. I've been a cartoonist for many years and Goof Roof continues to be my toehold in cyberspace. I’ve illustrated and written for numerous humor publications such as CRACKED, HUSTLER and HUSTLER HUMOR, JOKESTER, and THWAK magazines. Seduction Cinema Comics Group published my comic books, Play-Mate of the Apes and SpiderBabe. I worked as a radio personality for close to two decades in good ol’ Fargo, ND and enjoy creating musical and audio parodies in addition to my comic satires, and I'm currently co-editing a magazine called ART RIOT. So, go on… what are you waiting for? Check out the gallery and enjoy everything that’s goofy under one roof. Indeed, that’s why we’re here, my friends! Need to get a hold of me.?

Asylum’s 11/11/11 Frighteningly Good

Posted by Scotch on October 28th, 2011

11movie Slide your ass on over, Damien! It’s about to get ugly up in this motherhugger. I’ll admit that I was blissfully ignorant as far as the 11-11-11 phenomena goes until I realized that there were not one but two movies coming out featuring this numeric pattern. I just finished watching the first to be released on November 1, which is 11-1-11 incidentally. That’s the one that’s directed by Keith Allan and written by he and Kiff Scholl. Neither of which has eleven letters in their name, just in case you were planning on counting. 11/11/11, released by The Asylum, is a suspense-filled, biblical thriller much like The Omen. Jack and Melissa, whose son Nat hasn’t been speaking for some odd reason, move to a creepy new town. As it turns out, in two weeks, on 11/11/11, Nat will have a birthday and turn…you guessed it, ELEVEN!!

11movie2The town in this film is painted with an eerie flavor right from the start. The neighbors all take an unhealthy interest in Nat’s upcoming birthday, especially Annie, the Rachel Dratch-looking old lady next door who is batshit crazy and always trying to lure the boy into her yard. I, however, was most impressed by the Megan Fox doppleganger, Denise. Denise, played by Aurelia Scheppers, is an evil temptress of a nanny and I couldn’t take my eyes off of her when she was on screen. Everything about The Asylum’s 11/11/11 hits the mark which makes it one of my new devil-child favorites. Check it out yourself this Tuesday, November 1st, when the dvd comes out. Order it up from the good folks over at The Asylum. Oh, and Happy Halloween!

Play-mate Comic is a Go!

Posted by Scotch on October 24th, 2011

Hey, there! Sounds like we got the go ahead on the Play-mate of the Apes comic book. I have got an awful lot of work ahead of me and to be perfectly honest…I can’t wait!! I’m pretty darn excited as you can tell by the number of exclamation points I’m using! Here’s the revised cover so far, although there may be more changes. I’ll keep you posted on when this sucker is going to be finished, distributed, etc.

Posted by Scotch on October 16th, 2011

Yeah, it was awesome alright! Lots of ghoulish fun thanks to Denise and her spooktacular DK Custom Framing @ Gallery 14. We had a dark & deathly Halloween art show called “Crux of The Hollow”. Lots of Halloween artwork on display. Hung out with Joe Bailey, Mackenzie Kouba, Punchgut, Athena Funk, Al Ness (at least I think that zombie was him) and a whole bunch of other freaks! Here’s some pics from the costume cocktail party for those of you who weren’t fortunate enough to attend.

A Haunting In Salem Spooky Fall Viewing

Posted by Scotch on October 13th, 2011

haunting1 I happen to work in morning radio and seeing as October tends to be the time of year that people like to hear about the supernatural, we had a couple of paranormal investigators on the show. Now, stories about ghosts that torment and generally spook the hell out of home owners never fail to give me goosebumps and make those little hairs stand up on my arms. For some reason, I really enjoy this. Much in the same way a well-crafted haunted house film can give me pleasure while simultaneously giving me that uneasy feeling of paranoia.

A Haunting In Salem bills itself as a spine-tingling, haunted chiller in the tradition of The Amityville Horror and The Shining and, much like those classics, it succeeded in delivering numerous jumps and scares that kept me thinking about them long after the final credits rolled. Bill Oberst, Jr. was very convincing as a damaged man who becomes the new sheriff of Salem and inadvertently moves his family into a cursed house filled with vengeful ghosts.

Director Shane Van Dyke delivers a well-paced tale, filled with disturbing imagery and some really great special effects that, much like those stories of the supernatural I was telling you about, will give you goosebumps right on top of your goosebumps. I think it was Count Floyd who said that originally. Heh-heh. I don’t know if A Haunting In Salem is in fact based on true events like the movie claims but it will more than likely get repeated plays in my household. Especially on these crisp, fall evenings when I’m looking to have the bejeezies scared out of me.

Derby Damage

Posted by Scotch on October 9th, 2011

I’m trying my hand at doing some artwork for the FM Derby Girls. This is just a trial run here, but hopefully they like what they see and decide to use it for an upcoming bout. I had a lot of fun doing this one so hopefully I’ll get to do more.
