• Hey there, lovers of fine art! My name is Noel Anderson but folks generally call me Scotch. I have an insatiable love of B-movies and blame much of who I am upon their influence. I've been a cartoonist for many years and Goof Roof continues to be my toehold in cyberspace. I’ve illustrated and written for numerous humor publications such as CRACKED, HUSTLER and HUSTLER HUMOR, JOKESTER, and THWAK magazines. Seduction Cinema Comics Group published my comic books, Play-Mate of the Apes and SpiderBabe. I worked as a radio personality for close to two decades in good ol’ Fargo, ND and enjoy creating musical and audio parodies in addition to my comic satires, and I'm currently co-editing a magazine called ART RIOT. So, go on… what are you waiting for? Check out the gallery and enjoy everything that’s goofy under one roof. Indeed, that’s why we’re here, my friends! Need to get a hold of me.?

Maniacal Mutant Monsters Cover

Posted by Scotch on April 29th, 2012

While I’ve been keeping busy with a lot of different freelance projects lately, I’m still committed to the idea of getting this kid’s book finished that I started a while back. After all, folks need to be warned about all of the insidious monsters that have insinuated themselves into our daily lives here in Minnesota. I just finished a rough cover for it this weekend. Check it out!

Nazis At The Center Of The Earth dvd review

Posted by Scotch on April 29th, 2012

center1 I hope that you’re adequately prepared for some cinematic insanity because that’s about the only way I could begin to describe the dynamic movie I just watched this weekend. Nazis at the Center of the Earth is an extremely ambitious film that easily delivers the exploitation elements promised by it’s title (and then some) while crafting a well-told, complex, science fiction tale in the process. It also managed to surprise me like no other film has this year, surpassing my expectations. Honestly, at the half-way mark I thought I’d pretty much figured this movie out. I smugly thought I knew exactly what the film was and had no qualms with it whatsoever. It was good, b-movie fun and it was kicking my ass. But then, something so bizarre takes place that I would never have foreseen it! The visual effects are surreal and fantastic, much in the vein of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. The twists come fast and furious and can turn on a dime. Likewise, the director, Joseph J. Lawson, does a skillful job switching up the tone of the film in the most unexpected ways. Gritty and gory one minute, hilarious and campy the next. Just ask this guy!

What we have here is the tale of a group of researchers in Antarctica that get abducted by nazi stormtroopers. They’re dragged deep underground only to find that there is an entire world in the hollow, center of the earth, occupied by decomposing nazis. These nutty, decaying nazis need the help of the doctors to keep them alive while they plot the revival of the Third Reich. Jake Busey and Dominique Swain are great, as is Christopher Karl Johnson as Doctor Mengele, who turns out to be a hell of a shot with a pistol. Then there’s some bio-robotics that turn the movie on it’s ear and set the viewers brain flipping like a pancake for the remaining duration of the film. You honestly are not going to believe your eyes. Nazis at the Center of the Earth is really one of the best b-movies to come along in a long time. Certainly one of the most original. Do yourself a favor and check it out from The Asylum.

Four of my prints showcased at Duffy’s!

Posted by Scotch on April 12th, 2012

A whirlwind of stuff is going on right now. They are currently showcasing some of my artwork at Duffys for a month or two. They recently encased a couple of built in frames for displaying some of the locals art at Duffy’s. Joe Baily did it from November to January and MacKenzie Kouba’s work was up the last couple of months. I have four art pieces on display there now if you would like to check them out, 16 12th Street South, Fargo, ND. Here’s two of them…what are the other two pieces? Hmmm? You may just have to go see for yourself. Heh heh.

Yay! The ‘Apes’ Comic Book Comes out in July

Posted by Scotch on April 12th, 2012

It’s official! Alternative Cinema announced on their podcast this month, the July 2012 release of the comic book inspired by their popular “sexy spoof”, Play-Mate of the Apes. The comic’s release coincides with the 2012 Showtime broadcast of Play-Mate of the Apes and SpiderBabe as well as the cable premiere of BatBabe: The Dark Nightie. This marks the studio’s first foray into comic books and I’m excited to be the cartoonist responsible. Buy it this summer. Aw, Hell! Buy two of ‘em!
